대산성당 복자 구한선 타대오 성지

 

● 천주교 입교

복자 구한선 타대오는 경남 함안 미나리골(현 대산면 평림리)의 중인 가정에서 태어났습니다.

어려서부터 총명했던 그는 우연히 천주교 신자를 만나 이를 받아들여 교리를 배운 뒤에

성 다블뤼 주교로부터 세례를 받게 됩니다. 

 

● 전교활동

장성한 후에 소촌 교우촌에서 열심히 교리를 실천하다가 병인박해 직전에 리델 신부의 복사로

선택되어 고성 통영 교우촌을 지나 거제도까지

전교 여정에 동행했습니다. 

 

● 순교

1866년 병인박해 때 집에서 지내던 중 진주 포졸에게 체포되어 관아로 압송되었습니다. 그는 관장 앞에서 갖가지 문초와 모진 매를 맞으면서도 끝까지 신앙을 버리지 않았습니다. 오히려 옥에서 주요 교리를 설명한 글을 적어 관장의 부인에게 전하기도 했습니다. 그로 인해 더욱 혹독한 형벌을 받고 죽음 직전까지 간 뒤 석방되었지만 집에 돌아온 지 7일 만에 장독으로 인해 선종했습니다. 그의 시신은 가족들에 의해 하기리의 ‘신씨’들 묘소 한구석에 묻혔습니다.

 

● 기타

그로부터 오랜 시간이 지난 1959년 당시 함안 본당 주임신부와 신자들의 노력으로 고향 인근 하기리에서 순교자의 묘를 찾아 1976년 평림리 가등산 자락으로 이장했습니다. 대산 본당은 2002년 5월부터 마산교구의 대표적인 순교자 중 한 명인 구한선 타대오의 묘를 새롭게 단장하고 성역화 사업을 시작했습니다. 그해 9월 18일 묘지 축복식을 갖고 부대시설과 십자가의 길, 야외제대, 순교 현양비, 대형 십자가 등을 설치해 순례자들을 맞이하고 있습니다.

 

● 시복

구한선 타대오는 2014년 8월 16일 서울 광화문 광장에서 프란치스코 교황에 의해 시복되었습니다. 그런데 성지 주변이 공장지대가 되고 소음 및 순례자들의 접근성이 떨어지자 2016년 10월 복자의 유해를 인근 대산 성당에 조성한 무덤 경당으로 이장하고 복자 구한선 타대오 순교성지 봉헌식을 거행했습니다.

● entry into the Catholic
St. Gu Han-seon Tadaeo, a martyr to martyrdom, was born into a middle family in Minarigol, Haman,

Gyeongsang-do (currently Pyeongrim-ri, Daesan-myeon, Haman-gun). He, who was intelligent from

an early age, met a Catholic one day by chance and heard the doctrine, immediately accepted it,

learned the doctrine, and was baptized by Bishop St. Daveluy

● School activities
After I became an adult, I practiced doctrines hard in my small village,

just before the Byeongin Persecution, he was chosen by Father Riddell's copy and accompanied 

him on a school trip through Goseong Tongyeong Gyo Friendship Village to Geoje Island. 

● Martyrdom
In 1866, while staying at home during the Byeongin Persecution, he was arrested and taken to the 

government office by a Jinju police officer. He did not give up his faith until the end, even though 

he was beaten with various literary herbs and harsh beatings in front of the director. 

Rather, he wrote down an article explaining the main doctrines in the prison and delivered it to the 

wife of the director. As a result, he was sentenced to more severe punishment and released on the 

verge of death, but died of chronic poisoning seven days after returning home. His body was buried 

in a corner of the tomb of the "Shin" in Hagiri by his family.

● Other
A long time later, in 1959, with the efforts of the head priest of Haman's main hall and believers, 

the martyr's tomb was found in Hagiri near his hometown and moved to the foot of Gadeungsan 

Mountain in Pyeongnim-ri in 1976. Since May 2002, Daesan Main Hall has renovated the tomb

of one of the leading martyrs of Masan Diocese, Tadaeo of Gujoseon, and started a sanctuary

project. On September 18 of that year, a cemetery blessing ceremony was held to welcome

pilgrims by installing auxiliary facilities, a path of the cross, an outdoor altar, a memorial stone

for martyrdom, and a large cross.

● Beatification
On August 16, 2014, the other side of the Guan Line was beatified by Pope Francis at

Gwanghwamun Square in Seoul. However, as the area around the shrine became a factory

area and the noise and pilgrims' accessibility decreased, in October 2016, his remains were

moved to a tomb shrine built in nearby Daesan Chuurch and a dedication ceremony was held.
