● 공소 유래
곤의골 공소의 기원은 1839년 기해박해와 1846년 병오박해로 거슬러 올라갑니다.
박해를 피해 세 가족이 관아의 눈을 피해 첩첩산중을 헤매다가 이곳에 정착한
신앙의 역사가 오늘날까지 이어지고 있습니다.
이름도 없던 산골 오지에 곤의(곤란을 당했어도 의롭게 산다는 뜻)라 이름을 붙이고
후에 곤이골이 되었다가 현재는 고니골로 알려지고 있습니다.
● 공소 근황
박해시기에 소문을 듣고 암암리에 몰려든 신자로 인해 점차 신앙촌을 형성하게 되었고
이윽고 1969년에는 187명까지 신자 수가 증가했다고 전해집니다.
매달 첫째 주에 관할 성당인 영산 성당에서 신부님이 공소에서 미사를 집전하시는데
코로나로 인해 임시로 폐쇄되기도 했습니다.

● 기타
박해시대 때에는 산골 오지였던 탓에 병인박해도 아무런 피해도 없이 지나갈 수가 있었답니다.
그렇듯이 이곳 곤의골 공소가 위치한 호저면은 교행 간의 다소 불편은 있지만 외길 도로가
포장되어 있으나, 저수지를 지나 간간히 마주하는 외길을 지나면서도 반대편 차량과 상호간
조금씩 양보를 하면 비켜갈 수는 있습니다. 일반적으로 고산저수지까지 가는 길은 양호합니다.
교통 혼잡이 우려된다면 가급적 평일 오전 시간대에 방문하시고 로드 뷰로 꼭 공부하고 가세요.

● the origin of Gonuigol small church
The origins of the small church in Gonuigol go back to the persecution of Catholics in 1839 and 1846.
The history of faith that three families have settled here after wandering through the mountains
to avoid persecution from the eyes of government officials continues to this day.
It was named Gonui (meaning to live righteously even if you were in trouble) in the remote
mountainous area, which had no name, and later became Gonigol, but is now known as Gonigol.
● Recent state of Gonuigol small church
It is said that the number of believers gradually increased to 187 in 1969 due to the rumors of
persecution. In the first week of every month, the priest held a mass at the Yeongsan Church,
the jurisdiction of the church, and it was temporarily closed due to Covid-19.

● Other
During the period of Catholic persecution, it was possible to pass without any damage
because it was a remote mountainous area. As such, Hojeo-myeon, where Gonuigol Gongso
is located, is paved with a one-way road, although there is some inconvenience between the bridges,
but you can get out of the way by making little concessions with the opposite vehicle while passing
through the reservoir. Generally, the road to Gosan Reservoir is good.
If you're concerned about traffic congestion, make sure to visit during the morning hours of weekdays
and study at Road View.
